Chasing Light in the Desert

Another early start. The promise of golden light. The reality of an unforgiving cactus field.

For our second day of shooting, we set out before sunrise, heading deep into the Cholla Cactus Field—a striking landscape where the first morning rays create an almost surreal glow. We knew the light would be spectacular, and as we arrived, it didn’t disappoint. The desert stretched out in every direction, bathed in gold, setting the perfect stage for the Morgan in motion.

A Shirt That Handles the Heat

With the sun climbing higher, we captured the Morgan Cotton Linen Shirt, a blend of soft cotton and lightweight linen designed for effortless movement and breathability. Styled with worn-in denim and a rugged neckerchief, the look embodied a modern take on the coastal cowboy—laid-back yet refined, ready for long desert drives or cool evenings by the coast.

For a more relaxed take, we introduced the Morgan Short Sleeve Floral Print—a nod to Robert Talbott’s signature craftsmanship with a bold, modern twist. Paired with white linen trousers and easygoing layers, it was a study in effortless warm-weather dressing—lightweight, breathable, and undeniably stylish. Whether layered open over a tee or worn buttoned-up, it’s the kind of shirt that brings personality without overcomplicating the look.

From the Desert to an Oasis

As the midday heat set in, we left the open terrain behind and made our way toward 29 Palms Inn, a welcome change of scenery. The soft adobe walls, lush greenery, and dusty desert hues provided the perfect contrast to the morning’s arid backdrop—proof that great style, like great photography, is all about balance.
